I had a cream colored one with a hair mane and tail, but she was static. I think mine was either from the late 70s or early 80s. I'm also pretty sure that most of my old doll stuff was tossed out by my mom. Well, I have this one, anyway. lol!

She poses great and is also pretty stable without the stand.

Thanks for that link! I never would have bothered to look up which horse it was.

I'd like to have a few of the others, to be honest.

Confession time : I wasn't too fond of Barbie but I liked the accessories, pets, ect. best.

Sorry for such a late response. Sometimes, the real world sucks.

Yeah, I'm happy with the find. I LOVE old junk/antique shops.

That one is called Dancer and Mattel started producing them in 1971. Dallas came out in 1980 and I think Midnight came soon after.
Then there was Dixie, Dallas' foal and Honey, Skipper's horse. The last one I personally owned was Prancer the Arabian.
At the time I liked the horses and pets more than the Barbies.

I still like the horses and pets more than Barbie! lol!

The weird thing is...my mom was more apt to get me the animals than she was the Barbies. *rolls eyes*

Barbie horses now are stylized in sort of frightful ways >< The old molds are better, and I wish they'd at least sell some from them still but no. Though, truthfully I've yet to see a barbie horse that is actually 1:6 scale for a horse rather than a pony... (which is why my Bei has a marx thunderbolt 8-) )

But that is an awesome find, and it looks proper for Celestine (who looks like she's having fun).

Just a note, if the tack is rubber please don't leave it the horse when you're not using it, they can leave melt marks.

/has a model horse habit. Cough.

I had the exact same thing when I was young! I loved that thing, thought it was so cool but her front leg joint broke off. ;'( I was so sad. Good find!

Right now the horse is sitting on my shelf...and Celestine is hanging out with the 1/3 scale crowd. It's too cold for me to go outside right now and crawl around in the snow. (Arthritis/bum joints, ect... and cold weather just don't mix.)
