The Kolognes were really popular! I had Lily of the Valley as a kid.
My favorites were always the Jewelry Kiddles (really teensy at less than one inch tall with real clothes and bitty wigs) and the Storybook Kiddles.
I've been collecting them since 1980 or so -- so I don't buy too many anymore- but I just wondered if they had any "presence" in the current doll collecting world where BJD's seem to be Kings and Queens! LOL
I also collect the "original" ball joint dolls -like Bebe Jumeau. At 130 years old my Bebe Jumeau proves ther aint nuthin new under the sun as far as doll joints go. All the BJD joints are either exactly like her joints or are compounded combinations in some form or another of the ball, gauntlet, pinion, or swivel joints that the antique doll makers invented and used.
I like DOA but I like this forum better because the world of dolls is so vast and wide and creative and I could never limit myself to just one type of doll.
