Obitsu and Rare Earth Magnets

Postby AthenaSong » Tue Nov 15, 2011 11:09 pm

I have a quick question:

Since the Obitsu I'm getting doesn't have magnets I'm planning on glueing rare earth magnets to it's feet. However, I was warned that the magnets can be so strong that not even super glue will keep them glued to the doll's feet. Is this true? Is there a better glue to use?

It is true you could find magnets with a pull strong enough to overcome the bonding power of most adhesives. However, you don't need to go that far, magnet-wise. If you're getting your magnets from somewhere like K&J Magnetics (http://www.kjmagnetics.com/), look up the specs and see what the magnet's strength is. Since you said you're gluing then in I assume you're referring to 1/6 scale Obitsus. I would recommend Zap-A-Gap or Gorilla Glue super glues. For a 1/6 scale, anything over a 10 lb. pull strength is probably overkill.
