How to do/Where to buy sleeping eyes?

Postby kittyasauras » Tue Apr 10, 2012 4:00 pm

I want to do something like this to an obitsu:

http://parabox.jp/eng_new/para_ai-chan.html

(scroll down a bit)

I found some sleeping eyes on ebay, but they don't look the same as those on parabox. They have a 'lid' on the bottom. I also want her to have anime-ish eyes. Can I pop out the iris and customize it?

So where can I buy them? Or should I just cut them out of a thrift store baby doll..? ono

sleeping eyes are typical a sphere that is weighted and on a pivot.. if i remember right.
even if you rip the eyes out of a babydoll you'll have to mod the pivots.

I know how to make sleep eyes in porcelain, but it involves plaster sticking to the inside of the head. I don't know if plaster will stick to resin.
And yes, you do have to weight the eye.
