Can you dye a barbie?

Postby Linainversetsg » Thu Feb 23, 2017 2:10 am

I would like to make a custom, but the doll I found is too light in skin tone for what I want to do. I was wondering if anyone has dyed a barbie before?
I figured there are likely complications due to the difference in texture.

There will be complications due to the fact that different parts of the doll are made of different kinds of plastic and vinyl. The head and the body, just for starters.

The skin tone of Moana from the Disney movie of the same name. The doll I'm dying it from will be a peachy pink skin.

You could always paint it with an airbrush, however it might be easiest to find a body the right color and swap heads. Then you would only need to paint the head.
