Need head range!

So I ran into one annoyance with my new doll. His head can turn from side to side, but not back to front, and can't tilt to the side. It's a slot in the head with an S hook. Any idea on how to get greater range so he can move his head front and back, as well as twisting side to side? He can't tilt his head, only turn it. Any ideas?

For reference: elastic strung, S hook, slot in head. 60cm Doll Leaves resin.

Yea, I have a Doll Leaves and noticed the same problem. I read somewhere (here or Jspot) about putting a nylon washer between the S-hook and the inside of the head - so the S-hook doesn't lock into the slot. I've been meaning to try it to see if it will improve the motion - just haven't bought any nylon washers yet
