Rerooting a Jackson with the needle and thread method using craft store curls. I started with this tutorial viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2052 and want to figure out an easier way to dissolve the glue brains before I get started on a girl.

The toughest part is getting the old plugs and glue out, I would pour hot water inside the head and yank globs out with long tweezers. This way of rerooting takes longer but it's secure and works with any hair or tinsel or string you can fold in half. None of the plugs have come out on me :) When everything is sewn in place you can pour glue inside the head to secure it.

Attack of the poodle!

Hold hair down with bands and pour boiling water over the top. I did that several times with the bands in several places.

The results.

He still needs a bit more styling, I'm debating if I want to trim the ends but the nature of these craft store curls is to frizz and make a birds nest if you look at them funny. This isn't a bad texture and does what it's supposed to.

Your MH Guy is turning out really well. My friend is doing a reroot with two Clawdeen dolls and she told me the same thing that the glue inside the head was really hard to get out. I have not done a reroot on any doll yet, but it is something I want to learn to do because I have several dolls I want to reroot to have different color hair.
