DD face up help please

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place or not. I picked up some pastels from Walmart for when I buy my DD, they look like chalk pastels but they say soft pastels, is that the same thing? Also I read on a Dollfie blog that you can use sticky tac as eye putty, is this true? What sealants can I use on a Dollfie that I can buy locally? Lastly, are they're any ways I can do a Dollfie face up with just pastels, watercolor pencils and sealant?

Well,I don't think there are any vinyl safe sealants that you can pick up locally (unless you live near LA Volks store). The two known ones are the Volks ZM spray (Volks) and Mr. Super Clear (sold at Junky Spot). I think poster tac works, although I heard that the blue ones stain...and sillicone earplugs work, too.

Jut using pastels and WC pencils might work but the WC pencil might not look as "defined" as using paint.

Okay, I don't have a DD, but Obitsu share some similarities so...

Soft pastels should be chalk pastels, unless Walmart is crazy and puts oil in soft pastels.
I use white poster tack to keep my boys' eyes in. No problems with staining with the white, or weird leaching like Sculpy.
You might want to check at your local hobby/miniature stores, they might carry Mr. Hobby products, but generally you gotta order online. I use Volks' ZM spray on my Obitsu (and resins, hee) I've heard one person say they used Testor's successfully on a vinyl doll, but most people say it just gets gummy.
Pastels, watercolor pencils, and sealant definitely will do a fine job at face-ups. Admittedly, I'm not a pro, but that's what I use for my faceups, and I am quite happy with the results.

Thanks for the help. Are face ups hard on 1/3 scale heads? I tried to paint 1/6 heads and kind sucked, but I imagine 1/3 scale heads are a little easier, because they are bigger. Any step by step Dollfie face up tutorials that you know of?

I did my face-ups with WC pencils and pastels (with make-up swabs) only because I'm really bad at handling paint and brushes ;)
