Ears! Stop being so derpy D:

Ok so when we got our Monster High create-a-monster kits I made my Naomi Lesley, who I love but still want to customize quite a bit (new clothes, new wig, possible face-up). But my big problem is she's supposed to be a wolf/sea monster hybrid... but I can't get her ears to look right in her bushy magenta hair. It's so frustrating! I adore the ears, but it just doesn't work. They just slide down to the sides of her head and stick out like sore thumbs...
So here's my question.
Does anyone know if there's a way to anchor these little ears to the wig cap, or perhaps to the head, where normal ears would be? I know it would probably mean cutting or drilling holes to put the little loop through, but I can't think of anything else! No amount of tightening, pulling, or pushing secures her ears where I want them. Or, if they do not shift down, the clip of the ears is clearly visible in her hair and it drives me crazy. I love taking photos and I don't want to photo Naomi with her ears looking like they're tacked-on.
Why couldn't they make them snap-on ears? D:
Anyhow... ideas? It would be super appreciated.
Cheers,
Naomi
Edit!
I found a solution to my own problem. Yep, already. This post got me thinking. I've removed the fold-over parts on the ears but left the little pegs. I then used a screw to gently put a hole in her head (messed up the first one, but no big deal, her hair hides it and it's just a dark spot) and just pop the ears in place carefully. It so works! Pictures in a few.
