I need to restring my Delf EL - even after pulling up the strings it is still
really loose.
I dont know what size elastic string to buy
and once I know the size, can I just buy it at a craft or sewing store?

I have been able to get elastic for my minis at the fabric store. Take the old string in and see if they can match it in the by the yard rolls.

I don't know about your craft/sewing stores, but I know my JoAnn's doesn't stock anything thick enough. Someone else should be able to tell you what to get but Kiki-chan78 gave me the link to Monique's elastic here:

the elastic inside is real thick-
I'll bring some with me- I cut some off when I pulled it up=so stretched out!

From the monique site, you'd want a 10yrd pack of the 3.5mm elastic. That's the size I used back when one of my boys was on a type 2 delf body. There's enough elastic in one of those 10yrd packs to restring a couple of dolls (2-3 depending on size).

For my Minifees and my DC kid, using round cord elastic from Jo Anns works perfectly. Definitely bring your elastic with you to check! I doubt Jo Anns would have the perfect width for SDs, but for MSDs, its perfect.
