Added this on DOA ages ago..figured I could add it here too...

This is a double tutorial since its made with the same supplies....

ya need:
6 plywood boxes...preferably the tea ones most craft stores seem to sell.....
various bits of wood
glue-gun
saw
paint
yarn/string
hammer
slotted screwdriver
small star screwdriver

This is for an msd/sd scale doll...but it should be easy to make other sizes from it to..depending on the boxes ya use....

The Wardrobe:

Image

1: remove the inside completely from 2 of the 6 boxes...

Image

2: then remove the back plate from 3 of the 6 boxes
I've done this with the use of an slotted screwdriver and an hammer.....just go around the glue seam and loosen it from the box

Image

3: remove the lids from the 3 boxes ya didn't remove the backs of.

Image

4: also remove the locking mechanism from the 3 lidless boxes

Image

5: Then remove everything but the top section on 2 of the 6 boxes

Image

6: the last 2 boxes will be the bottom of the wardrobe, so here it depends on yer own taste if you want to gut it or keep the sections as shelves...

Image

7: glue the identical boxes to each other to make a bigger box

Image

8: remove the top and bottom of the completely gutted box, and glue it to the bottom box

Image

9: then remove the bottom of the last box, and glue it to the top.

Image

10: add whatever details you want to the inside, and a bar for coat-hangers

Image

continuing in the next post! :!:

11: add small parts on the bottom as feet. And paint in the colours you want

Image

12: then add whatever details you want to the front, and a small bead/detail as an handle

Image

13: I also added a mosaic mirror on the inside of the door.

Image

The Desk

everything has been put together with a glue-gun

Image

1: take out the 3 lids ya removed while making the wardrobe and the various wood scraps from when ya gutted the inside of the boxes(this one i started painting while putting it together)

Image

2: glue the 3 lids together, and add details(mine is from a coaster holder)

Image

3: use the excess wood part from the gutting to make the upper part of your desk, and/or add details with random scraps....here I've also used some wooden coasters.

Image

Image

4: keep adding parts until yer happy with how it looks

Image

Hope this can be an inspiration ^_^

Oh that's epic! What are the dimensions of the boxes, though?

that one is made for a zaoll so the finished wardrobe is of realistic height for her..

but it can be made for any sort of doll, ya just find boxes the right size for what you need and start constructing ^_^

Just last week I bought a cheap tea box that looks like a wardrobe for shoes or accessories when you put it up straight:

Btw, it's just for looks cause it can't close with the shoes on the shelves, lol! I'll probably put a pile of folded pieces of fabric in there to make it look real.

Now I just need to find the right size mirror to put over the 'tea' thing :P
