Anyone own this? I'm contemplating buying it, but I kind of want an idea of what sort of patterns are in there.

Oh - sorry I missed this post for so long. As a matter of fact I have the entire series O.O; If I don't fall asleep before I remember to do it tonight I'll pull it off the shelf and give you a rundown.
As an fyi - I have the very latest issue and I'm probably going to sell it because it's the first one that has NOTHING I want in it. All of the dresses are sort of German-Slavic inspired which, probably because of my german upbringing, are not anything I want to dress a doll in LOL.

Ok, didn't pull it out until very late last night. This is actually one of my favorites! The theme for the issue (they all have a theme or specific designer) is "Real Clothes" so it's a great book for some basic wardrobing. There are patterns for Momoko, Mame Momoko (super deformed momokos) Blythe, Petit Blythe (like little pullip), Tiny Betsy McCall.
Patterns include: jeans, tank tops, cargo pants, shorts, denim skirt, skirts, sweaters, light coats, hoodie, hoodie jacket, stockings, swim suit, stockings, handbags, t-shirt... If you'd like specifics as to which pattern for what doll, there is a chart at the back I could try and scan that shows each individual piece by doll.

I'm mostly looking for formal wear patterns. Do any of them have patterns like that?

Off the top of my head I'd say no. Most all of them are casual/goth/trend stuff. What you probably need are the Takara Jenny books - there are several of those with formal dresses.

There are a lot of formal Barbie patterns out there. Have you checked that out?
