I still don't think that she's dead. I hope she's not dead. :/

Assuming that K2 didn't just use it because he likes the way it looks on the page, why would Sapphire be using a transformation spell on Diamond?

Perhaps she was using a transformation spell on the both of them in order to take Diamonds place?

Sapphire says - "You have sacrificed so much for so many. I wish I could do the same for you." - right before apparently killing/sacrificing Diamond.

If Sapphire transformed herself and Diamond, she could swap physical forms through transformation allowing herself to be taken as the sacrifice.

Oh, BTW go back to episode 173, after Hyacinth is shot by Rhiani, Sapphire uses the same incantation casting a "fifth circle critical healing" spell, but comments that it will require a sacrifice. Diamond says "Please Sapphire just do it." - ah zirconmermaid beat me to that one...I had to review the episodes before noting that. I kind of get the feeling that that particular incantation is used in a preparatory manner before some larger magic is done. Sapphire isn't as proficient in the healing arts as Diamond, and has to dig deep to heal Hyacinth. But, why is the same incantation used right before whatever happens to Diamond? Is Sapphire digging deep once again to give something of herself to help Diamond?

Finally, the mannerisms of Sapphire in the final two pictures plus her use of 'dear' addressing the nekomimis just kind of suggests to me that at very lease Diamond is present in that physical form, whether sharing or not.

I don't know why but I think Diamond may not be gone, but I'm not sure what Sapphire did in order to do, whatever she did. I hope Diamond isn't gone, she's always been my favorite character.... Actually, I'm kinda fond of the nekomimis as well, and Sapphire - well, OK all of them. Sapphire seems a little on the tragic anti-hero side of things, the kind of character that despite many appearances and/or pre-conceptions is ultimately heroic, but with a heavy dose of tragedy.

Perhaps we need a candle lit vigil for Miss Diamond and Sapphire?

Still, I wait patiently for someone on the good side of things here to open up a giant Can O'Whup-ass on the bad guys.

Is that bad? I think not!
