China Girl Arrival

Postby WhiteDove01s » Fri Jun 21, 2013 5:34 pm

Just a few quick images taken to commemorate. Sorry for small size and low quality... I don't actually have a working camera at the moment and have to take pictures using a complicated process and my computer webcam.

DUM1 is the brown Pit Droid, DUM2 is off-white. I also sometimes nickname them the 'Tweedles', tho that's a bit of a cross-canon joke that isn't all that great... after all, they're both DUMs, neither one is a Dee.

DUM1: A Package!
DUM2: From Alaska!

DUM1: It's been opened...

DUM1: This is the dolly we were looking for!
DUM2: Thank you!

I like that the droids are wearing little outfits. :)
Getting packages in the mail is always fun.

The DUM droids in dresses is the result of a long-running gag started in some online RP stuff a good while back. Basically, this one child character kept kidnapping DUM droids when she could catch them and forcing them into dresses to make them substitute as dollies for tea parties. They kept trying to escape at first, but eventually gave in... So, when I got my two, I had to look for dresses that fit. XD

You're welcome. :)

I think the backstage crew may have already decided she's in charge of the props department... on the grounds that she's so tiny they'd be bigger to her and thus harder to misplace. XD This joining the DUMs in charge of stage dressing, Qui-Gon in charge of special effects/lighting, Padme Amidala in charge of hair, and Peter Cushing (actually a Grand Moff Tarkin doll, but I like the actor not the chara... so...) in charge of stage direction...

Or at least that's how it'll go if I do any Behind The Scenes comics. XD Somehow, I end up doing all the work...

I think the pit droids are great in dresses, too! And the little China Girl is so cute! I wish I could find the Peter Cushing doll, I have the Christopher Lee one for the same reason!

I didn't know there was a Christopher Lee one...

The 'Peter Cushing' doll I have is actually a Grand Moff Tarkin fig from Star Wars 12" line, still fairly cheap over on Amazon. $12 and shipping, currently. The headsculpt is a really good job.

I plan to someday add a little more color variation to mine's hair with a thinned acrylic so it isn't all the same flat grey, and may possibly someday put him on a 1/4 scale body so he doesn't have the Hasbro Star Wars issue of being 1/4 wide and 1/6 tall. XD But for now, and on my budget, he's pretty cool - even if the scale weirdness keep both him and Qui-Gon relegated to backstage crew.

Toni would be Backstage Crew as well, since she's a Tonner Antoinette Cameo (my first expensive doll, and will probably always be the one that cost the most if I can help it). But she insists she's a 1/6 scale giantess instead of 1/4 scale...

They are strangely adorable. XD I plan for those two to become a sort of running gag, once the camera's replaced and I can do decent photostories.
