Yeah, CGI.
While it's always better to do things live, sometimes it's just not practical or possible. The door mechanism on those vending machines is made so you can't reach in there and help yourself to an arm load of dollie snacks. While it would be possible for Finn to push the door open, lay down under the security flap, then release the door, and be clear to stand up, the photographer could only place her in there, release the door, and then not be able reach in to stand her up.
Hence, call in the special effects department.

I am impressed by the number of poses you have of Finn inside the machine!
Much like I prefer to believe that Mr. Ed was a real talking horse (because there's no way that Alan Young was a good enough actor to react so realistically to a fake talking horse) and Patty and Cathy were really identical cousins, I am almost convinced that Mr. Farnsworth's girls are really alive, and Finn is genuinely trapped inside the candy machine.
That stuff about "CGI" is just to placate the health department.
