#40 The Butler Part 3
“You’re too big to hide, but…”
“Surprise,” Gelfrey said. “You’re small. Bet you never saw that one coming. I sure didn’t.”
“Wow,” Micah said. “I’m in shock at such unprecedented magic.”
“It takes much to impress you, human.” Gelfrey sighed. “And I was so pleased. It’s the first time I have successfully shrunken anyone. Usually they just implode.”
“WHAT?” Micah squealed.
Foster shrieked, “You do not have permission to implode me!”
“You could hide here.”
“Or we could invite the guards for a tea party,” Gelfrey said.
“You’re not putting me in a dress again, damn it,” Foster fussed. “Let’s just hide in the trunk and run after you get rid of the guards.”
“There, I think there’s room for you now.”
“What are you doing with all this junk, Gelfrey?” Foster huffed. “We could get lost in this mess.”
“I like how the shapes and textures feel in my hands,” Gelfrey said with a little pout.
“I have a better idea,” Micah said. “We could walk right past them like this.”
“Try this tail. It’s my favorite.”
Foster shrieked from his bed that he would not under any circumstances wear Gelfrey’s fetish gear.
“Take this for protection,” Gelfrey said. “It feels nice and sharp.”
“And here’s a nice axe,” Gelfrey said. Foster shrieked from the bed that he was NOT wearing a fox sprite’s tail on his royal posterior.”
“Blessed Oracle, what have I ever done to deserve this?”
“I’m sure you’re simply fetching,” Gelfrey said. “Try to walk, see if your legs are working yet.”
“I look ridiculous. And who’s going to fall for it? Look at these giant ribbons! Look at these stupid headbands! It’s so obvious even an idiot Bog Boggler would see through it!” Foster fell on his face. “AUGH!”
“They’re enchanted,” Gelfrey said. “Nobody will notice.”
“Wonder what Ina would think, huh?” Micah snickered. “Bet she’d think I was cute.”
“Don’t start your canoodling talk,” Foster warned. “I won’t hear it.”
Once dressed and armed, Micah went out back where Vargas waited. The naga said, “Is the nasty fairy alive again? There are guards everywhere. We must hurry, yes we must.”
“Yes, alive, but not ready to travel. Would you be willing to escort us to the Infinity Gate beyond the Jade Forest?”
“Dragon territory?” Vargas sighed. “My friend needn’t ask. I am a brave naga. I will stay with you to the end. Yes I will.”
“Thanks, buddy. I owe you one.”
Gelfrey summoned a few friendly dragons willing to lend Micah and Foster a ride, but Foster was too weak to stay mounted so Vargas let him ride in his cape.
“You forgot this,” Gelfrey said.
“This is utterly humiliating. What am I supposed to do with this stupid thing?”
“I get to ride a dragon!” Micah squealed with joy.
“When you get close to the border between vale and forest you’ll come upon a village. The gates to the border are just beyond. Go to the Cozy Den, it’s a small tavern at the end of town. Ask for a fox sprite named Chase. He’ll get you to where I will be waiting,” Gelfrey said. “You’ll get home to save your friend in time, my prince. I’m certain of it.”
Foster cleared his throat. “I thank you for your noble service.”
“No need to thank me, I’m simply one hell of a butler.”

Bahaha… I’m silly.
