I know there are tons of story bits and pieces you don't know yet, but I really wanted to get some shots at the beach and I knew that this just couldn't wait. Most of the swimsuits are by Beach Girl Nikita, although Namiko's suit is actually from Best Friends Club. It's a tankini -- very age appropriate for a 12-year-old.

Z's new look is pretty cool! And the girls are very pretty in their suits. I love Mitzi's wig, too. I can't wait to find out what the rest of the story is!

It looks like they're all having a great day at the beach, lucky kids! Their swimsuits are all so cute.

Spent many happy times at Carpenteria, back in the day. Of course, then it was a tiny tiny little town. I used to love to go to this wonderful toystore at Santa Claus lane- it had a steiff forest and lots of imported German toys (unusual in those days).

Santa Claus Lane was the bomb. The monster Santa bust is now in Oxnard, and Santa Claus Lane, while still called such, is now basically an Antiques Row.

A couple I'm friends with now live in Carp (that's what the locals call it) in a house that one partner inherited from his mom. Such a sweet little town...mostly retirees, surf bums and the independently wealthy live there. Thankfully we live in the era of the Internet...holding down a code monkey job from ones home office there is definitely doable.

I had a great day at the beach until my camera broke. :P Luckily I had a spare of the same model back at home, and the broken camera was still under warranty. Biff's getting the repaired camera. Nikon actually went over the camera and physically replaced the lens assembly. I was fully expecting them to throw the camera on the "send to China for refurbishing" pile then pick up a refurbished Coolpix L20 off a shelf and ship that back to me. But they actually took the trouble to fix a $100 point-and-shoot from China. The perks of dealing with Nihon Kogaku Optical. :D
