The Mother earth news fair rolled around and I vended at it. Victoria and I ended up wandering about most of the time...

I don't see why not, just grow things that thrive in your climate zone. And heirloom seeds work as long as there are properly cared for. And you can save the seeds to plant next year. And she would love to visit you California( so would I lol)
