Eloise- Oh boy a pony! Hi, pony! I'm going to love you lots and lots and lots.
Image
Eloise- I'm going to brush your tail and braid it and put ribbons in it and everything!
Roger- I'm a boy!
Image
Eloise- And I'm going to ride you every day pony!
Roger- You know the rules, you can only ride me if I can ride you.
Eloise- And we'll ride to your friends' houses and we'll play ever day!
Roger- You don't look very sturdy, are you sure you can pick me up?
Eloise- I'm an Obitsu.
Roger- Alright then.

Does Eloise need glasses, maybe? :D

Very cute! (And such a HAPPY little girl to get her pony!) I sculpted a pony...er, Centaur once. A lot of work! For Eloise's sake, I hope her "pony" is housebroken....

Everyone in the dollhouse will be on the look out for little piles of Heinz baked beans... That's the nice thing about dolls, the don't do s***. All the Breyers live in my sister's closet so Roger is the closest thing she's ever seen to a pony, Roger's cool, he likes kids.

If I was starting again I'd do a few things differently but I learned a heck of a lot, especially with the engineering with the first jointed one. This is a form that would benefit from and Obistu like skeleton. I think I was remembering my old Lone Ranger and Zorro figures with their wonderfully jointed horses, or the orange one I had many years ago.

I have one word for you: Ebay. You could probably find those horses on ebay.

...wish I still had mine. They're kinda pricey now.

The non-jointed Marx horses aren't too bad, price-wise -- in part because they re-released some of them, so they're not all forty years old. (I still have my original one from the 1960s... the others I acquired since then.) If you haunt that section of Ebay, sometimes you can get lucky. Though I think Eloise did well with her "pony" -- he's just the right size for her!

I hope MY kidlets don't see this post.... Mandy has been pestering me for a pony since she arrived, and I'd never hear the end of it... ;)

I'm trying not to buy anything I don't need to, period. The dolls have the Breyers if they need a horsie that bad. Roger was/is supposed to be the first in a slightly derailed train of thought, and he did the centaur thing on an album cover. I might get around to making his half human friends or he might be it. I was aiming for around 25-26cm for him so he would look like a short adult. He's about where he should be.

We have some Marx horses around and they are huge, much taller than I would have wanted. I also wanted him to be based on a heavy horse to have the right feel for his personality.
