Gilan's Lie

Last time:
Mina came to Gilan with a very strange request. She informed him that he was going to meet someone very close to her over the weekend, and that even though he might want to harm her, she begged him to keep her safe. Because Gilan is fond of Mina--and because he's not a barbarian kind of paladin who runs around beheading demonic entities indiscriminately--Gilan agreed to honor her request. But at what price?
Here's what happened last weekend, once Gilan got home from a rousing game of Dungeons and Dragons, during which time he met Yukiko, a strange, pale child...
*rustle rustle rustle*
Gilan: Little Ari...
Little Ari: *panicked* Oh, Gilan! Thank goodness you're home! I think we've been robbed! I can't find my red kimono anywhere! It's missing!
Gilan: Hm?
Little Ari: My kimono! Ki-mo-no! You know. The red robe I walk around in sometimes? Have you seen it?
*Flashback*
Gilan: [Elvish] There you are, little Yukiko. It's a bit large, but at least you won't go home in nothing but your skin.
Yukiko: *giggles innocently* [Elvish] Thank you, Oniisan. You said that you borrowed this for me? Do you think that your elf woman will mind?
Gilan: *hesitates* [Elvish] Well, we're not going to tell her about you just yet. But don't worry. She never wears this robe. She won't notice it's missing.
*Present*
Gilan: No.
Little Ari: ....(what was with the hesitation?)
To be continued!
And now, a picture that is unrelated to the story but I wanted to show it anyway because it was adorable. I took this before I took Yukiko's head off. Right now, her head is flying away to get a custom face up, so I'll introduce her formally soon enough! ^.^
