Using the pleater is not too difficult. Make sure all the parts move, make sure it is the right one for your machine, start with some simple cotton strips. I have directions for mine (from the manual for my machine - I guess the box of attachements came standard). The manual was enough for me, but I have seen some youtube videos out there also.
