Working On It...

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

It actually looks far better than this in person. I really need to get the tent out and do it properly. I was up late though, and I knew you all wanted to see it so I thought why not? But lamplight just didn't quite cut it. I've started the black one but it's been slow going so far because I've been sick. That one will probably be a bit more like the Blondes one. Lower on the hips and I want to do a lace ruffle in black or net I think. Theirs has a bit more of a hour glass silhouette than mine. I was going for more of a belly baring corset here. For now she's got on a calf length pink suede skirt, that belt and silver go-go boots but eventually I want to do a bit more of a fantasy skirt look and get her some better boots. I re-calculated, it was just under 15 hours actually with making the skirt and belt.

I hope you'll get to show us a new picture soon, I can imagine it would catch natural light much better!

Hi Magkelly,

This top is gorgeous! Must have taken you a while to do this. Is the back beaded as well?

Yes, it's beaded all the way. With making the skirt and belt it was just under 15 hours I think. I'm working on the black one now. It will probably take me a bit longer than that though. Too much going on and no time to bead.

Just for kicks I sent a pic to the designers that inspired me. I didn't expect a reply but they actually sent me back a lovely little email. They liked it. (Yay!) I thought they might. They're actually fashion doll fans. They've used Barbie in their shows. I'm going to send them a pic of the black one too when it's done. :)

I'm thinking I may also do something like the long beige cracked glass dress they did. I just love that look but that would be a long, long project that one. I'm still not too sure I can find beads that look like that, like mosaic glass, in doll scale. It might take some doing but I might if I can figure out how.
