Handmade Skirt with a Slimming Belt! [BF Tommy, IMG+]

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

Handmade Skirt with a Slimming Belt! [BF Tommy, IMG+]

I saw this lovely kerchief-like fabric in the scrap bin at Hobby Lobby, and I knew it had to become a fluffy skirt! I lucked out and found some light blue tulle as well, and figured I'd experiment with it!

Image
It was a little rough/boring just as-is. But the tulle is kind of fun. :D (Not to sew. Definitely not fun to sew on a machine...)

Image
Tis a bit cuter on Elby, methinks. c; However, even on Elby, the waistline is still really bulky! I wanted to get that gathered look, but without the messy waistband.

Image
So I made a wide belt to go with. :D It's not sewn onto the dress, but has hooks on the back with some allowance for different sizes.

Again, without the belt, pulled low so you can see it under that frilly shirt. xD

Image
Ta-da! :D In the end, very pleased with the result!

Great job! Everything looks very finished, and the tulle adds a feminine touch!

She looks so happy when it's all put together, but seems relieved to be not so dressed up at the end, I love it! :D
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

Thank you everyone for all the positive feedback!! Always good to get approval from someone that isn't you or your husband. xDD

Pahaha, I'm glad that came through in the pictures! She is the least girly of the whole gang, but also the only female... of course. xDD

She does look pleased in the final shot. Great job. Did you make her little top as well? It's really cute.

I wish I could take credit for her top! No, I didn't make it, it's some random western doll company clothing I acquired from a friend... Not for Barbie, but for a similar doll. I feel foolish being so unacquainted with dolls on this side of the world, but so well versed in eastern BJDs xDD It fits her alright, but the lacey bits sometimes make her a little indecent hahahaha
