Hot to trot al-la 1950-ish

I've been having some fun with doll clothes patterns intended for dolls-of-different-sizes-and-shapes-then-BJDs.

Here's the bustier and jacket from the out-of-print Vogue 7440, originally marketed for the Madra Lord doll in the Gene Marshall universe (15" dolls). I scaled the pattern up and altered it to fit this doll.
I have the blouse (minus the ridiculous neck bow) cut out. There is a pencil skirt pattern in this set, but I like the one from a different pattern (only 1 pattern piece!) well enough so I substituted.
The bustier is outrageously pointy.
The skirt is from a vintage early 1960's doll sewing pattern intended for "11 1/2 dolls" - not Barbie, as this pattern's waist is much larger proportionally then Barbie would require.
The skirt is cotton velveteen, unlined but with a facing added at the waist as well as the seam allowances bound with tape.
The jacket is tropical weight wool. I added a lining to the pattern, using rayon lining.
The bustier is laced in back (instead of overlapping and snapping). I went ahead and lined it, fusing very lightweight woven interfacing to the fabric (more of the green rayon) and to the lining (china silk polyester lining).
The necklace was made by a friend of mine, and I can't believe how much I LOVE the red wig on my normally brunette doll!
Finally, this doll has some clothes of her very own, rather than always being dressed in stuff that's really in my Etsy store.
