Patience dress re-do w/wig update photos

This is the outfit I bought with my Patience doll:

And this is the dress that was under the cute coat:

Not so cute, jmho. It looked more like a nightgown to me. So I pulled out some embroidered lace trim I got some time ago off ebay and made an over-skirt and sleeves to make it look more like a dress:

I added some beading to the neckline and then to a belt made from a bit of satin ribbon:

Oh, and yeah, she got new shoes and a new wig. I trimmed up the bangs a little and I'm getting tempted to cut it shorter as it's a bit long and wavy for my tastes. I'm also looking at a few patterns to maybe make her a new spring dress from scratch.

She is a Wilde Imagination doll, Patience altho mine is named Melissa after my late niece/godchild who I think she looks like. She is designed by Robert Tonner who does the Ellowyne dolls among many others. The wig goes to the middle of her back and I was thinking about trying it just to shoulder length.

Wow, that dress looks 110% better! It actually looks like an adorable dress, rather than a liner for that coat.

I love the dress improvements you've done - it looks so much better than the nightdress/petticoat looking one it started out as.

The dress definitely looks much better now imho. Before, she had that "little runaway with nightgown under coat", but now it looks more like a little lady with a party dress

Thanks everyone! I have finally cut her wig. Here are some before and after shots.
The back was in a permanent swoosh that I didn't particularly like.


It was so messy, it was making her kinda crazy.


I'm not the best with hair, but I like this much better now.

I still like her long red wig, but I think she's adorable in the short hair too.
