Works in progress as I try to figure out how to make what I want. Engineering is the right word I think, learned quite a bit from this, will try again later.

Thanks, I know enough of how to make them, used to wear them, it's just getting them in to a doll size that's useful for me. And it needs to be a roughly one size fits most as my ballerinas will change. Half of it is still getting from my head to the fabric.

*I do believe Eloise is happy with a remade tutu. And it showed me what could be a problem with the sparkle and ribbon stuff so I'll have to think around that too. ~puts on thinking cap~

Getting there by doing, first off doubling the bodice to make it stronger.I gathered the tulle as it came off the spool to give me enough and sewed it on upside down, put a layer of sparkle on and snipped it in a couple of places to make it lay flat. The others will have their sparkle cut in a slightly different way. I want short tutus like this in a solid color and another batch with black bodices. May make some long ones with black bodices too.

Svetlana in silver tulle, the others won't be quite so full but it works for this one :)

So, what 1/6th ballet will you be staging? The tutus are looking good.

This train of thought started with Disney princess tutus that could double as crinolines for their ball gowns when I was going to dress my girls as them, evolved in to "I don't have that color yet" and doesn't know where it will end. I have a stop motion idea I've thought about for a good long while, want it to be a surprise. As for ballets I don't know many. Suffered through my sister's dance school of Nutcracker and Beatrix Potter and I own Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake. Sometimes girls just want to run around playing ballerinas.

If I do go forward a couple of guys will need some tights and tops too.
