My boys are being so generous... letting me have all winter to make their clothes... -_-; Riou wants formal Chinese robes. I was lucky enough to find a brocade that has a small enough pattern that it will actually SHOW UP when sewn on a small scale.
Layer 1: under robes (aka white layer to keep him from staining) Had the fabric laying around from my sister's wedding (I did the decorations), the white chiffon is very soft and flowy, perfect for this layer.
Layer 2: robes I wasn't able to match the red of the brocade to my satisfaction so I went with the gold. Again, chiffon, thin and flowy. The wider gold trim... there's almost 12 FEET of that stuff on there already!!!!! I just keep reminding myself that to buy an outfit like this, I'd be paying in the triple digits. (sorry about the blurry pic... really bad lighting up here and he's not the world's best stander)
Collar detail: this is why I'm totally in love with this brocade, you can actually SEE the print, and this is on an MSD!!!
Sleeve detail: more trim... and pretty dragons! ^__^
Currently I'm working on the 'tails' for the belt. They are made, I just have to put the trim on a couple of them. All the trim is attached by hand. I'm glad Nagi's Japanese robes will be easier...
