New skirt for Nova

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

New skirt for Nova

Nova strikes a sassy pose while modeling the new skirt I made for her. (Tank top is unknown brand, not-handmade.)

<.< It's made from a cheap pair of panties. I like the pattern and the mesh ruffle around the edge, and I thought it would make great doll dresses
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

That's cute and you just gave me an idea, thank you. JoAnn's here doesn't seem to have much and I've been trying to find more stretch fabric for making leggings and t-shirts. I never thought to look in the underwear bins. I've looked in the socks, the ladies tights, but I haven't really given the undies much attention. Undies generally do have nice small prints don't they? Hmmmm...

And a lot of times they're trimmed with lace around the edges, which is fun

Such a cute little dress~! I saw a little nightie in Wal Mart last night that I was tempted to repurpose into dollieh clothes, but for $20, I would rather just buy the fabric itself.

Check dollar stores too! Sometimes they have small racks of clothes. Family Dollar is a good one, but watch those pricetags. Every once in a while, they sneak an expensive item in there.

Oh to live in the USA! If for our dollieh's sake alone! You people are so lucky. Here I sit in South Africa *sob, sob* where they don't even have the faintest idea what a bjd doll is never mind catering for them..... I think your skirt is cute. It definitely does give one an idea...

The skirt is really cute. I like the black ruffle you added to it. Awesome idea on the panties. I will keep that in mind when I am in the stores.

I go to thrift stores and consignment shops and look at the clothing that isn't very expensive and have scored some awesome fabric. I have found the that kid sections tend to have smaller scale prints or stuff that works well for dolls, but I can sometimes find stuff that works in adult sizes too. Now I just need to work on my sewing skills. Heh.

I did not add the black ruffle, it was already attached >_<

Cheap panties are a great source of material that is already trimmed with lace and ruffles!
