A new name and a new-ish outfit

I finally found a name for my Arwen doll: Morla Musette. Morla is Polish for apricot according to the baby name book I consulted. I decided to fix up the gown that came with her instead of starting from scratch.
Here's how she looked originally.

I replaced the gray silky sleeve with a deeper blue chiffon and used similar trim around it. Then I made an overskirt with a train of the chiffon with the same silver trim.

I made a heavily beaded belt to attach the skirt and then added beading to the gown. I used clear and light blue seed beads with silver inside for some sparkle. There are also some blue Swarovski montees on the dress and belt and some other, larger Swarovski beads on the belt for added decoration. Next I beaded up a necklace and a headress for her. I'm not thrilled with the headress and may try to make something else to replace it. I also braided her hair back on the sides so her pretty pointy ears show better. Here's a closer shot of the top and belt.

I have some pink stretch velvet for her next outfit, but I'm currently struggling with my sewing machine to make some lace undies for her and for my Ellowyne girls. For some reason, the machine keeps trying to eat the lace or bunch up all the thread in one place. Might be time for a tuneup. I've only had it for about 30 years or so.
