Yeah, yeah, here I go, spamming again. That's what happens when I get access to a camera and inspiration for a dress style for my favorite doll. XD

Image

I think I went a little crazy with the bows on this one. I was going to use white ribbon, but I thought that would look a little too plain. The material is eyelet muslin, salvaged from the discard bin at the laundromat where I used to work.

Image

A close-up to show off her choker, which was TINY to work on but I think it turned out very well.

Image

The skirt is broomstick pleated in two tiers and edged with lace that would ordinarily be out of scale for her, but works quite well as a ruffle for the skirt. I might make another bandeau top for this dress in blue material for better contrast; if I do, I'll post the results here.

Nicely done. I love how you've been matching her wigs to her outfits.

From start to finish, probably about five to six hours. I tend to do marathon sewing sessions because I hate leaving things half finished. That's why I only sew on my days off. I do everything completely by hand because (a) I don't have a sewing machine and (b) sewing machines scare me. XD

It's not so much planned that way as the fact that I have so many wigs for her. My next planned outfit is a purple and black outfit and I just happen to have a black and purple wig to match it with. :B What I have a real problem with is matching SHOES. I really need to start making shoes for her that don't suck.

Looks great to me! I don't think that's too many bows at all really. Looks pretty balanced.

lol, I have to join the club there. I'm a marathon worker period. Every project I take up I tend to work straight through, only breaking for food, sleep and bathroom.

Also sewing by hand because I don't know how to use a sewing machine... we have one downstairs, but I never learned how to use it.

I kind of like sewing by hand though. Something kind of gratifying about it. But since I'm working on larger dolls now, I may try to get my mother to teach me how to use a sewing machine for some long straight stretches.

Beautiful work!
I also sew by hand but I do not know how to put on elastic-
is that elastic at the top of sleeves & top? If so, how do you gather such a tiny thing
and put the elastic on it?
