My first Monster Hi outfit

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

My first Monster Hi outfit

Postby kenaiqueen » Sat Sep 01, 2012 10:54 am

Here's my first attempt at a Monster High outfit.
Image
I made a simple strapless mini dress for my Snow in a lightweight silver stretch material. Then I took the wires out of a wired Halloween Ribbon and gathered it and sewed it to a strip of ribbon to make a tutu to go over the dress. I think it's not too bad for a first try. It's been years since I had to sew something that small and it wasn't a picnic for my aging eyes/hands! I probably won't do a whole lot of sewing for my two MH girls, but I may try a thing or two in the future.

Snow's new dress looks gorgeous, kenaiqueen! I'm definitely gonna have to look through the ribbon this year when stores start stocking Halloween stuff, those bats are adorable! That's such a great and crafty use for ribbon!

Thanks! I was thinking about trying to make a longer skirt with layers of gathered Halloween ribbons for her next.

Thank you and thank you! I hope someone else will try the ribbon and post a pic. I'd love to see what someone else can come up with.

I made a dress for a 1/4 doll some eight months ago, that used satin blanket trim, which is basically a very wide ribbon. It's so great to work with, because you don't have to worry about hems!~
