Sweet Lolita Dress

Finally finished a project I've picked up and put down multiple times over the past couple months! Here is Rose modeling her new sweet Lolita dress:
Image

The pattern was purchased off ebay from The Patchwork Pansy, designed by Adeline Salvesen. It was easy to follow, although I did decide to alter it a bit. It's much shorter than the original design and I made the sleeves short.

This one shows a bit more of the front lace and lacing detail. The dress fabric is a Mary Englebrite pattern and the underskirt is some quilting material that actually has a teensy black dot pattern on it. Shoeties were purchased from ebay too. It's all hand sewn while watching tv. :)

I made the tights from another pattern I had, using some 6" wide stretch lace I'd purchased from ebay. I faked the little gauntlets by just sewing some other stretch lace trim together. Her big sister, Joan, is already whining about wanting one too. I have some white with little pink rosebuds that I may try using for her altho do have a completely different dress cut out that I want to finish first.

I love it; super cute! I especially like the little cherry print you used. That and the lace really make the outfit.
Also, where did you get the shoes? They're really cute.

Thank you all! And yes, all the layers--oy! I'm in a rural location and trying to find scaled down prints in materials that aren't too thick is difficult, so I do get a lot off the internet. I had to buy lace I could trim down to make the lace pieces on the front that hold the corset lacing. Finding narrow black lace for the skirt trim was a real search. (You'd think my local JoAnn's would have such a basic, but nada!)

The shoes were purchased off ebay. I think they came from DollChris Doll Treasures. I've purchased mostly from her as I try to buy from USA sources when I can even if the original maker was foreign.
