Elemental magic

I just made LeFay a new dress, so I figured it would be a good time to start a thread for her.
I started with a negligee and used a tutorial on DOA to make her this

She's my filmy dress, elemental girl. Mostly she seems to be a water elemental.

This is the quintessential LeFay dress. I call it Spring Rain. I found a fabric pack at JoAnn's and it just spoke to me of shimmery April rain showers.

A few beautiful scarves were the start of this filmy, reversible dress.
As you might have noticed, I make LeFay yarn wigs fairly regularly. Somehow, she's my vinyl art doll. My girls think she's scary and distant, but I think she's beautiful.

I got a few triangles of candy corn fabric in a mixed bag of scraps right before Halloween and they begged to be made into an outfit for Lefay.
This is so slapdash, but it was fun. I edged it with glitter glue, cut semi circles from the triangle points for the waist and mounted the triangles on ribbon for the skirt. A separate tulle underskirt covered most of LeFay's modesty needs. The cut out semi circles were pleated onto another ribbon for the top. Two little triangles were sewn together for panties and it was all done. I do believe waiting for the glue to dry took longer than the sewing!

LeFay has a convoluted history. I bought a Haruka head and Obitsu 60cm BJD body and named her Rowena.
Image
Rowena informed me she was actually a boy, Rowen, who now lives with my daughter on a Teen Trends body with the bust sanded down.

Meanwhile, my daughter, P, informed me that Morgan ( my Luts El) was in love with
the blank eyeless default head and that the head's name was LeFay. She posed
Morgan holding her head!

Even without a face up, LeFay showed an affinity for water.
Charie Wilson opened Lefay 's eye and gave her a faceup. I put her on Rowena's
body and the lovers were united.

Thanks :) It's lovely and drapey. Making doll clothes out of people clothes is pretty fun. Lots of pre-finished edges and pre- coordinated fabric and trim to jump start my creative juices.

Thanks maywong and leopardessmoon. LeFay is so fun to sew for - mostly drapey clothes with very little fussing with patterns.

Aeilia‬ Thanks so much!

Hippolyta‬ Since P was part of her story, it is more detailed than the rest of my dolls. The imagination on that girl! Thanks :D

Astrid Thank you :) The light blue one is my favorite too. It's quite monochrome, so it doesn't photograph well (at least not with my skill level) but the fabrics are gorgeous.
