Not only does she have the information on the seller and postings, but eBay will have all the information on the buyer also. Once she is finally able to get a hold of the PD and they get a hold of eBay there will be a trail on where to get them back from.

The persons who bought them will have to return them as they are stolen property. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about that fact. Receiving stolen property, whether knowingly or unknowingly, is a crime. They will be able to recoup their money through PayPal.

That is why it would be best if that no one who was aware of what was going on did buy them- even if it was to give back to her. That would probably get them into hot water once everything does get worked out. I have a feeling eBay would not look well on someone who knew something posted was stolen and they bought it anyway, even if it were so they could do the right thing.

The seller- well, who knows what will happen to him. It will probably come down to if they decide he was knowingly selling stolen property or if he was also just an innocent person caught up in someone else wrong doing.

The most frustrating thing about this whole mess is that she can't get a hold of the police.

Your post made me feel a lot better. It's true there is a trail. <3

Is there any further update on this? Has she managed to get the police involved?

She posted an update on the JS forum. It appears she is getting at least one of the dolls back.

Yep, she said so on DoA too - one of the buyers found out about the theft, and they're working on figuring out a way to return her doll. :) I hope she's managed to get in touch with the police so she can get the others back too.

One of the buyers, the one who bought the Boboie Resinsoul doll (pardon any confusion, resins are not my thing) posted positive feedback on the seller's page, which gave me the buyer's ID. I signed in to Ebay and sent them the following message:

Dear graysont,

Ebay's form would not let me enter the item number, but this is about this item you recently purchased:

I feel you should be informed that you have purchased stolen property from this seller. Please see forum posts below for proof of this claim.

I'm sorry you've been placed in such a position by an unscrupulous seller, and hope you'll do the right thing to correct this matter.

Here's to hoping that actually helps in some way. At this point I have little sympathy for the seller or his excuses, as if he had had any decency he would have contacted the buyers himself instead of waiting to get positive feedback from selling stolen goods.
