Thanks guys! For all the feedback and stories.
I mentioned that if anyone would respond to this, I'd give an update. Well, I'm very happy to say that my Grey DOD Kalix "Alvar" is home for good! It's been a crazy month for me without work. And it's been very interesting scrounging. But, I've successfully done that.
I managed to find a full time job with all the bells and whistles. What's interesting is how I got the job. I presented my dolly art sculpting in an emailed cover letter along with my resume. And that's how I got the job! (I'm gonna keep what the job is to close company. Sorry) I had to crow a little bit to my dad, who absolutely hates my hobby. But, I had to tell him today "now remember dad, my BJD hobby got me the job."
SQUAK! Lol.

Hey, if it's at all relevant, hobbies can help you get jobs. (My Vampire-the-Masquerade personal website probably helped me get my current job a number of years ago... I copied it to a CD and brought it along to my interview. It was a website-design job, so... :D )

I could cull down my Barbie/action figure collection some -- most of those are packed away. ever since I discovered Obitsus and Volks, the Mattel figures seem to be too limited for the stories I want to tell. (though I do use them for secondary and background characters). Maybe this summer, I'll think about that....

It's sometimes taken me several tries to get the "right" doll for a character, but usually the one that doesn't quite fit that character comes up with a new character for him/herself pretty quickly. I'm trying not to add to the 'big doll' collection, but fate will probably conspire against me at some point. (Damn you, SOOM! and you TOO, Emory! for coming up with "perfect" dolls for concepts still in my head...!!!)
This space for rent.....

I had a J-doll and the Moxie Teen, only to discover that I just didn't like the small size of the J-doll and decided to sell it to a friend, plus I found out how very, very quickly you can run out of space for doll things. >.<; Thankfully she went to a home where I can still see her occasionally. :D
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

Okay, I guess this is a double confession.
See, I think the dolliehs are alive, so, if I sold one it would hurt his/her feelings, and I would feel guilty (that's confession number one).
Confession number two is that I've considered it, but never done it--yet.

I'm sure that there are some people who share that same belief as you do. This might interest you. ;)

All I know is, if my Kyo minimee had a soul, he would try to kill me in my sleep while blaming me of his existence. It's been two months since he's been around, and I'm still alive. So, that bunks my belief of dolls having souls.
But, I am like a kid with my dolls. They have names. They all dress a certain way. And every once and a while I'll talk to my dolls. Like when one of my dolls decide to fall over, I'll go "Jeez Lucian. What's your problem?" Stuff like that.
Guilty! LOL O_<

My boyfriend is an animist, so that really doesn't seem that odd to me, lol. I've considered selling off some of my dolls before (though not my only two resins) but haven't yet.

I've sold dolls to get other ones before...but this usually only happens when I'm feeling overwhelmed with the amount of dolls I have. I tend to sell three who don't get any attention to get one I'm pining for lol. I'm considering doing that now, but I seem to be a little too attached to the gang I have at the moment, so...we'll see...

I did, when my husband and I were engaged, sell a couple of dolls to pay for his wedding ring. He was actually mildly upset when he realised I did it lol
