yeah they are beautifully done :D ... cool that you like Rozen Maiden ... I was originally looking to get a different type of doll .. but after seeing the anime for RM I got interested in bjd's and got one :D

do you belong to any of the manga groups ? ... I read RM at mangafox ... ch 77 is the next one due out

Yeah I got into RM after I got my Obitsu and found it really awesome. Now I really want to try getting either a Pullip RM or getting a BJD and turning her into my favorite.

I don't belong to any of the groups except on DeviantART's RozenMaidenDolls group. I read manga at MangaHere.com. ^^ I also read off the Spectrum Nexus as well.

I dont think they are available any more ... when I first found out that both Jun Planning and Volks did dolls based on RM I went looking for them ... and drew a complete blank with both companies as far as anything listed on their websites

I dont know how long ago those dolls were made, or for how long ... I am guessing they were limited editions, and some of those disappear off the market as soon as the initial offering gets bought up

I found the Volks site for the Rosen Maiden dolls, and it was a long time ago. You can now get them second hand for about... $2000. If your lucky.

Here is the original Volks site for Suiseiseki.

Yes, I really do love Suiseiseki best. I watched all 3 seasons and I really want to get a hold of the manga now too. I was already into BJD's when I started watching it, I actually watched it because I was into BJD's. And totally have since fallen in love with the show. Fandomwise tho, I only belong to the Rosen Maiden group on DeviantArt, other wise it's all OMG LET'S GET DOLLS TO COSPLAY AS THEM.....
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

OUCH  ... that is not cheap ... though for very special LE's like that, than also have a fandom attached to them ... it is not surprising

and yeah ... looking at when they released them ... doll party 17 ... and I think the most recent one was #25 ... that was a few years ago

I looked at that link ... Volks did do a beautiful job on the Suiseikei they made :)

AlmySidaKay wrote:Yes, I really do love Suiseiseki best. I watched all 3 seasons

? ? ? ? ? ? ... three seasons :?: ... I've only ever found that they did two seasons and then a two ep backstory set in the time frame of the second season
... there was the original "Rozen Maiden" ... then season 2 "Traumend" ... then the two ep backstory "Ouverture"

AlmySidaKay wrote: ... and I really want to get a hold of the manga now too.

as far as I know the manga is out of print ... (the original story, ch 00a-43) ... and as far as the follow on story it is only coming out in Japanese, I have not even seen mention that they are planning on releasing translated editions in English

I have gotten all of the original story downloaded ... and ch 77 is the next ch due out

I picked up the anime out of curiosity ... it was in a "sale" rack and the boxed set had both seasons ... so I got it ... I have liked anime and manga for several years now
... because of RM I got interested in bjd's

there are a couple of manga/anime series I like better than RM ... but just a couple

I like many anime's better then RM but this one at least has cross fandom. :P

Er... also I meant 2 seasons and movie-ish thing.

I've only recently gotten into Rozen Maiden, but recalled having seen and loved pictures of Suigintou (can't resist 'badass-with-a-soft-spot' characters). To be honest I don't think the Volks dolls quite fit the characters as well as they could, even if the outfits are gorgeous. The best ones I've seen are these customized dolls, mostly Volks and Obitsu I believe. http://dridoller.web.fc2.com/index.html (click on Gallery, theres pictures of all their custom dolls and links at the bottom of each page of more gallery posts of them)

Actually the RM pullips are still being made. They just rarely come onto the market. They're on the JS right now.

that's cool :) .... and I understand now about the seasons & movie :)

LOL yeah ... those ARE characters that are hard not to love

... I kind of think that is why I like Rin from Kodomo no Jikan so much ... she is the same type of "two opposite extremes" character ... and why I also like Rosario+Vampire

wow ... those ARE some gorgeous customizations :D ...... I especially love the job they did for Suiginto
