That is horrible, I don't even want to think about the animals left behind, apart from the people that didn't make it :(

I'm fine in Atlanta and my mother is doing ok, she's in Boston, but we haven't heard from my 100 year old Grandma. She lives in NJ. I'm sure she's fine, but it would be nice to hear from her.

I'm in New York state, but I'm way up north. We haven't gotten anything except for some nasty wind yesterday. Glad everyone is checking in, and hope everyone stays safe!

I'm here! My area got some flooding - Everything closed down yesterday, including my job, so I didn't have to work last night - but by the time I woke up this morning, most of it had already receded. We got lucky; I don't think it was nearly as bad or lasted half as long as the news stations were predicting. We didn't even lose power. I live closer to the city, though. Not so sure how the more rural areas fared. I'll probably find out when I go back to work tonight, whether any of the roads are still flooded or not.

thankfully we didn't get as hard as they were predicting here. It's been raining for three straight days. There's been a bit of a landslide nearby, but only very minor flooding- mostly basements and yards. That's actually quite surprising as we've had about 3 months of rain in three days.

We skirted alongside the eye of the witch. o_o But everyone's okay and we have no damage. Although NJ coastal towns have basically been removed from the state, or at least Sandy attempted to do so. I'm hoping to join a volunteer party to help out a cat shelter in one of the towns to clean it up. Last I heard they survived but the first floor of their building flooded.

Seeing a photo of a giant roller coaster get swallowed by the ocean is a bit... sobering.

The damage on the coast of CT is terrible.
My 88yo father is down there & doesnt understand why I cannot just go over there!
My mother with dementia and I were within inches of the substation being shut down
but the water receded just in time! So we were a patch that didn't lose power!!
Glad the grocery shelves were restocked today.
