I've been relatively bored this week and I didn't feel like tackling any projects, so I discovered some really neat stuff from random browsing.

For anyone searching for 1/3rd or 1/4th sized furniture, try searching under keywords "salesman sample" on ebay. From some of the measurements the sellers list, they look like they'd work wonderfully with those scales. Most of the really, really nice pieces tend to have really, really expensive prices or shipping costs. If the prices don't scare you, just have a ruler or measuring tape on hand to compare with your dolls to see if they'd work!~

In case anyone was looking for an SD-sized violin, this one might work nicely:

There were even 1/4th sized caskets, too. Just slightly too small for 1/3rds.

I got lucky once and found a salesman's sample coleman tent with sleeping bags even! It's just the right size for 1/6 scale or smaller :)

Kiki-chan gave my boys mini coleman sleeping bags for xmas. They are just a tad short for 1/4, but the boys love them anyway. When I took the boys camping at the end of May I took the sleeping bags. I showed them off to people and they thought the bags were too cute. I'd love to get one of the tents. I would SO set that up next to mine. ^__^

Here ya go http://www.simplicity.com/p-5261-blythe ... othes.aspx Not too much in the interesting department but looks better than nothing. Reminds me I still haven't seen one of these IRL. Closest I've seen is a Hujoo.

I wasn't asking for it. I was just saying they have it. Now if they ever do an ABJD pattern.....

Gosh darnit, I'd really rather be home right now. <sigh> I really need to put in a leave slip.

My book http://stores.lulu.com/store.php?fAcctID=3385703 shows you how to measure any doll and draft sloper/block patterns which all other patterns are made from. Once you have those you can take any pattern that exists and adjust it to fit. In other words once you know what measurements you need for your ball joint you can apply to a smaller doll's pattern to know how much to enlarge then with a bit of alteration make the final adjustments to make it fit. Or you can use your sloper/block to draft anything.

There are lots of books and websites that show you how to alter, I just make the initial drafting easier.

They might not get in to ABJs because there are so many different ones. A Blythe is a Blythe like a Barbie is a Barbie.

Klar, Klar, Klar... The ridiculously basic idea I had in mind when I put you together was "bright, glowy blue eyes". After much hunting, I successfully got these lovely urethane eyes that do fit that concept very well. But then, after trying the new pair on, you reveal to me that your current, darker urethane eyes work better.

So, I guess the new eyes will go to Hal's new shell when I finish putting him together. XD
