I tried to crochet once. I made a a few crooked scarves seven years ago. haha Those little dresses look great!

I plan on making more clay things later down the road. That was a fun project.

Wooo!! Those bedsheets look wonderful! I'm really impressed with the quality.

You guys are all so crafty. It's fun to see all the different projects.

Random pic from the tutorial I'm working on, for how I like to paint doll eyes.

Camping stool

What happens when I'm rummaging around in the scraps and find some lightweight duck

Image

So, as you all know, I haven't a doll yet, so my poor coffee cup "sat in" for a doll bottom. At least it is a colorful coffee cup!

The legs are "connected" with a metal D-ring for now (pencils just stuffed through the ring and wrangled into place).
"Real" tripod stools either have a complicated 3-ended bolt or use 2 bolts kind of strung together. I'm not looking forward to trying to find bolts for 3/8" dowels so I might just lash the legs together.

I think that the seat is too large for the length of the legs. The proportions look funny to me. I'll wait until SHE arrives to make the real thing.

First tutorial of this nature. :) I just have to put all the pictures into place and write the explanations... as well as a very important pro's and con's list for this method.

Back to Bed (to the Bed, I should say)

I have all the pieces for the bed cut to size and drilled except for the decorative verticals in the headboard. I need to get some more square dowel for that.

I pegged it all together with the 'help' of my dog.
Image

These braces are for the head and footboard, they will go between the bottom rail and the corner post at each corner to keep the head and footboards nice and square. I was going to try and drill them and peg them, but I think I'll just glue and clamp!

Here's one side of the footboard up close.
When the bed has the final assembly, I'll glue all the pegs like this in place, trim them off, and sand them all purty-like.

The next step is to decide what spacing I want for the vertical pieces that will fill in between the rails of the headboard.
Then I need to do some more sanding of everything, stain the pieces, and finally I can glue stuff together. Then, the last step is to find some material for slats to hold the mattress in place.

Thanks! I'm rather dreading the deco vertical pieces in the headboard, so I think I'll see if a fancy fabric covered headboard might look as good.

Looking at my side rails, I'm thinking that the 1.5" stock I could find is really too narrow (visually, anyway) but 2" was just not available. I'll see what it looks like once I can put the mattress and bedding on.
