I believe that what Dollykim meant was that when the eviction moratorium went in, the people who were paying by voucher stopped paying, knowing they couldn't be evicted. So those people are not able to get vouchers now, which means they can't pay full rent anywhere.

Yes, a landlord told us that many people with vouchers just stopped paying. The way the voucher works is it pays a portion of the rent and the tenant the rest. So you have some freedom in choosing a place as long as they will take the voucher. They also have to have a minimal quality to the property which is another thing.

Around here a lot of landlords won’t take vouchers because they’re afraid they won’t get paid but those who know the system know in normal times it will help them weed out problem tenants because they have to meet certain criteria to get a voucher. For disabled and fixed honest fixed income people it’s a great program but like all assistance it gets abused.

We’ll, I have a cousin in Oklahoma who wants me for a room mate but no real way to drive there. With everything else I’ve had to give up or been taken away from me of late I won’t leave my babies.

Can’t take a storage container to the unit so it will have to be a vehicle
If I had a driver I can go to a cousin if not we just who knows what

I need either someone to drive from where we can leave the car to a moving truck rental, Penske is cheapest one way long way or a place I can have a storage container put so I scan fill it and ship it or someone who wants to drive a rental truck

After crunching numbers I might have to go with a trailer. Was just at storage and sans all furniture but my bed it looks like my stuff is 16x5x5 feet give or take. And where I’m at it’s trailer country galore but our old Buick wouldn’t even make the drive.
It’s irritating because I’ve saved for some expenses and have a place to go.

An I’ve learned it would be cheaper to rent a truck in Texas, deadhead to me in California, then load it up and take it back. But my problem is still either getting a driver for that or someone to watch our third wheel so we can do a two seater

Got somewhere to go for the 4th. The last even possible place in California would be half way in the mountains so focus on evergreen trees if we’re staying in California. If not I’ll be saving every penny for a moving truck.
