I got an actual camera with wi-fi capabilities for a good price yesterday. But not sure if I'm going to keep it. It can't upload directly to Facebook or cloud like I was hoping (a newer version of this model can, I think), but I can transfer wirelessly from camera to phone, and from THERE upload the pics. Seems unnecessarily complicated; I'd just take directly on the phone in that case. The camera has got higher MP and 10x zoom, but other than that, not sure it's worth keeping. I also wanted something that takes better pics in low light without use of flash, since my indoor lighting is so terrible. Maybe I'll play around with it a bit before deciding whether to return.

I just won an ebilbay auction for one of my 'grails.' I got a 'School Dazed' Lizette for a reasonable price. I have the School Dazed Ellowyne (altho she is my DH's favorite doll, so we say she is 'his' doll), but I really liked the Lizette too. I doubt she will make it here before Christmas, but if she does, she goes under the tree since she is basically my Christmas gift this year. (Well, Lizette and the new bigger screen tv I just bought today. )

Oh my, my after Christmas shopping was fun and functional... First, the functional:

I GOT THEM ON CLEARANCE! Whew! I'd been admiring them for so long, but I hate to spend a lot of money on any one thing-- I keep depleting my doll fund on necessities, you know? And so on and so forth, but AFTER CHRISTMAS CLEARANCE AT TARGET, the time to spoil myself! (one of the reasons I hadn't bought them before is, in central CA, I almost never need anything other than sandals, because I have element-resistant hobbit feet that like to breathe. But vacationing over the winter up in Oregon, well... I went for it. Besides, now if I have to wait for a bus in the rain January through March, I can be covered.

And of course, if I was going to get boots, I'd need some socks that come up past the ankle...

I find ladies' crew socks cut off calf circulation for me-- I have thickish calves and small feet. So I bought men's socks, which are more comfortable on the leg, and I'm actually cool with the fact that they're a bit loose around the foot because my feet hate being stifled.

Now for the FUN (but still technically functional):


I bought the little set of hampers in the dollar section! CC the Nano Freya is 'modeling' them because you know cats and hampers... technically I could use them to organize any number of small things... but I'm sure a doll will claim them before too long.

And the purely FUN:

Violet Flicker. I hadn't had time for a second coat before dinner was suddenly READY on me that night, but it's a bit sheer and streaky with only a single coat. BUT that means I could layer it over a flat color polish for some added depth, see how it transforms the color a bit. It is LOADED with glitter so I am pretty in love with it.


And I treated myself to a Funko blind box pony fig because I hadn't seen them back home (we then had to go pick one up for my brother. I won't know what he got until tomorrow at the earliest, but I got this cute little glow in the dark pony!

Omg the boots, those socks! I love them!

When boxing day came around I discovered a Keurig single cup brewer on sale for $49.99 on Amazon.ca and it included shipping so I snatched that up. It makes a cup of coffee or tea in under a minute! I've really been enjoying it. The K-cups are sort of pricey at $8-9 per 12 cups, but only making a cup a day anyway, I don't feel like it's a rip off. I am in love with the vanilla biscotti flavored coffee. <3

Happyknot, if you have a Costco or BJ's or other similar store near you, check for k cups there. I buy the Costco brand and it's $38 for a 100 count box. $33 if I get it when it's on sale. But I've seen between 50 and 80 count for $25 to $38

Also, seconding the recommendation for the reusable filter basket thing. It's really great because it lets us use the K-Cup maker to use up all our old grounds, or the stuff from the local coffee roasting company that's too small a business for them, or special blends... (though I admit I am usually lazy and take advantage of my mother's frequent purchases of Starbucks K-Cups... We usually lurk around the coffee aisle of Target until there's a sale/special deal going on since the cups are pricy, but it's such a convenient system for getting just a single cup at a time.)
