Well, I mean I am no animation expert, KD, but yeah, I can see that is flash animation and it just doesn't look anything like the MLP/FiM stuff I've been watching. Really the new MLP stuff looks to me like a much better and smoother version of pioneering animation like Gerald McBoingBoing and the early Astro-Boy and Kimba the White Lion. Stylistically it is very similar to those, both in terms of simplicity of style and stylization. But hey, what do I know, I'm only married to a professional artist.

Lol I honestly don't see what is so 'sickening' about flash asides being a more clean cut looking style of 2D animation. *shrugs*

And you honestly can not tell me that the G 3.5 style of animation crosses into the uncanny valley and tasting of diabeetus...

I'd be really surprised if the new artists weren't taking a lot of inspiration from Rocky and Bullwinkle, Gerald McBoingBoing, Mr. Magoo, and the really stylized short pieces you used to see on Disney in the early days of Walt Disney Presents on the television (I grew up watching all of that).

Btw, before I found FIM I've been a a fan of the Nostalgia Chick who's review on the MLP movie points out a lot of the weaknesses that the old series had. Fans have been poking her to watch the new series...

The only reason I can't is because the computer I'm currently using is my husbands work computer. I don't download anything onto this bad boy that isn't approved. If ever get about to fixing one of my laptops I'll make my own version of derpy hooves trying to make a peanut butter and jelly sammich. Have to finish getting the repairs on my car over with first however so that may be a while.

Story was great~ I still hate the artwork and the way it's put together. And I keep reading that the show is created in flash. "the show looks amazing. Yeah 3.5 were more than a bit creepy & super sweet but I kind of liked the way they appealed to my kids who are two and three. I understand doing away with them because it attracts a much younger audience than their target.

nothings bad about flash at all I just expect more from a cartoon myself. If it were a web-based thing I wouldn't care. ((EDIT: I wouldn't care as much anyhow. I still don't particularly like that art style for the ponies but if all the new figures available weren't done in that way I wouldn't be so violently apposing them)) It improves upon the previous show yes. I applaud her for that and you've given enough evidence to prove Lauren is a fan. I like most of the things shes done in the past but I'm still disappointed. I feel so much better COULD have been done with it as a tv show. Then again you are talking to the girl who'd love to see a comeback of the original hobbit, Wizards, and the last unicorn animation. I would die of sheer happiness. Not going to happen though, today's kids are far too easy to please so why put in the effort?

:/ I really like MLP: FiM, I thought the animation was fabulous and smooth. I follow artists with animation backgrounds on Tumblr and they all rave about MLP: FiM. *shrug* I have no background in digital design and animation, so I just go by what I see and what others who know a thing-or-two tell me.

There is another show in Flash called "My Life Me" and it's absolutly terribly done. Not only is it mock animu and pandering to the crowd of weebos (over-the-top annoying anime fans), it's just... terribly done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7UDCmd9UyY

Well, we took another look at our new home, same size room, ginormous tub Anderson can play hurricane in. Apparently clean is relative to some people. I think the carpet is supposed to be one shade of grey, not mottled, but that's going bye bye.

KILZ (which is a paint, if you want to paint over the paneling)

I have used all three with good results.
