Wewt, got a new job and I start this Monday (like... tomorrow). I had only been on the interview Thursday and they were barking at my heels to employ me by 9am the next day. o_O; It's more QA, but this time it's Junior QA at a rather small company called Usablenet. What I find ridiculous, now, is that I'm getting the same salary at this place (40k. I have nothing to hide) as I was at Allsector (my last job) as a regular, non-junior QA analyst at a large company doing 3564783654738 things at once (actually, summing up what the QA team was doing at ALlsector, against the QA wanted ads, we shoulda been getting 60k, but whatever -_-). Allsector = Allsucktor.
Aaanyway, luckily I never had to dip into my "wee I has play moneys" tin can (which is like, $500) so now I can continue saving.
Sooooo many things I want OTL
Like that comissioned fursuit head I babbled about a few times over the months o_O... but over those months I can't tell if I've just came to terms I wasn't getting it and now I don't know what I want to do with that. o_O Originally I was just going to commission a white wolf... that way I can dress differently, add/subtract "armor" (awesome tutorials on making armor and leather with fun foam sheets, glue for sealing and shoe polish) and clothing types, etc, and not be locked into one specific look.
Now I dont' know what I want.... white wolf, Xieu-dragon (his dragon form is like a mesh between a Euro dragon type -which would be more lizard/reptile instead of camel/stag/lion - and every Asian dragon you can think of - Asian elements like the horns, fur mane, atennae things on the nose, etc OTL), a more realistic warrior Hyen.... too... many.... options.... just those two are fairly specific and I can't get away with a bunch of different characters out of it at Renn faires and cons and stuff o_O
.... on the Doll side...
I still want mah dang DoD Luke ver 1 (I think it's version 1? the one with the blond hair in the photo, rofl) as my Daven =_= I had dubbed that mold and hair color my oldschool character Daven.... a knightish character I've had for yeeaarrsss..... This is a character I still treasure lots... I use his name for everything...
I want the wig that is in the photos xD Mainly cause that pretty much screamed Daven, along with the mold and faceup. His hair is different in style, but it's closest I'll ever get to in a real life situation, roflmo. Damn anime hair.
It ups the price, but that's ok. I might as well go for the offered outfit on it, too, since I don't have any extra 70cm clothing sitting around o_O That would up the price, too OTL about as much as the commissioned fursuit head (and especially if I get the servo-moving ears
). But thats ok, I have a new weapon up my sleeve. *builds a bunch of fursuit heads and sells for 150-200ish each on top of the budgetted play money method she was buying dolls with before being laid off* +_+
I was after the DR Xiao for human-Xieu... because the expression matches Xieu's confident, "yeah, I know I'm awesome but I'm the commanding of respect type" ...unfortunatly, my Xieu lacks any and all tact, too... but that's besides the point
The faceup and sculpt was awesome and very Xieu... I was just a little reserved on his lips, since his nose can just be sanded.
However, after dressing Hito, my DZ Yuu, in Xieu's red and gold hanfu I had commissioned EGK ages ago, and Raven's old black wig, he made a rather nice, younger looking Xieu. So I might just leave it at that... Or, I just get another tan Yuu head and have Kiki faceup his head
Then he'll have actual black eyebrows and I won't have any reservations on adding his red orb on his forehead. After that it's just a matter of swapping heads and clothing....
Though it would be nice for everyone to have their own bodies =| Just room is getting to be a concern, here, lol... My head works in a very.... "what is the most economic way to do this.... share bodies and clothign and wigs! Wahlah, Can do more with less!" OTL the other half of me is like, "....but I feel bad that I have to short cut like that.
Does that make me a bad BJD "mom"? lol OTL
The other thing I've been eyeballing for ages was the DoD Si.... the lil MSD catboy =x well, not really, but his theme thing was a white tiger + martial arts. I don't have a particular character in mind for him, but he's so damn cute I don't know whether to cuddle him or throw a ball of yarn at him. I'd so turn him into a catboy.
I ALSO want.... those Crom wolfy legs =_______= *fast forwards the month for her paycheck and stalk's Pawn Feral's post* That'd be the first thing I'd run at with green and white paper.
They would be absolutely perfect for both Hito (being a werewolf) and more likely for Tien's body, being Xieu's endearing and loyal servant... who is a shadow beast (think giant giant giant black wolf with rams horns and asian dragon's tail, lol). It would be awesome to represent both sides of him with the Crom wolfy legs, human body and head, and the magnetic ram horns that BBB/RS sells (I think it was them o_o). I just need to find another body so I don't have to keep pulling legs on and off and effign up elastic all the time. It won't matter the resin matching, I'd most certainly dust them black (dust/blush so it's not to stoic when I gradate it to skin tone at the knee). After that I think I'll either abuse Seth's head (uuuhhh I forgot the mold name OTL) for whenever I want to photo TIen, or find another gentle/soft faced mold.

Who knows, although I don't want to get too far ahead of myself.
. 41 pages, 27 are patterns, the rest sort of gallery views on the different Doctors, er, looks and others who can share pattern sizes. Peter and McGann blackened their hands X< Not it's waiting out the arrival of the test print of the patterns. And realizing I could have waited and ordered a full proof today but that's just me. I figure if the patterns work the rest will. And if they don't I don't know what to do, except go back to trying to wash Peter's hands.
