I'm sooo afraid I'm going to jinx this. But I may have a new job. Making more than I've ever made at any previous employer. I'm getting the call Monday, to see what happens. -crosses fingers- If it goes through, I may be able to get my grail doll.

Well....forgive me for putting a foot in here, but savings will get you through times of no dolls better than dolls will get you through times of no savings.

So very true. If times weren't tough, I would probably have more dolls than I knew what to do with. But having a limited budget and an expensive goal has taught me wonders on money management. Whether it was a doll, a new graphics tablet, or any other luxery item, there simply isn't any way to justify spending money on an expensive hobby when bills need to be paid. So I had to save little bits here and there. But it's also gratifying to finally get something that you've worked for. It will be nice not to have to worry about being able to pay said bills. All of my jobs have been minimum wage, unskilled labor. Even the job I had as a graphics artist was middling at best, because my boss was a cheapskate. (average entry level graphics artist: $14 an hour or more. My wage: $8 an hour, and I also had to do telemarketing and computer coaching for my boss's mother whenever she was in the office) So to start at $10.50 an hour, plus commission will be a nice step up. In Florida, there is no state income tax, and min. wage is.... $7.50 I think. I could be wrong.

Best wishes for your possible job OkamiKodomo!

I got my Dreamhigh Studio Aka yesterday and I have to say that he is the BEST articulated doll I have, even surpassing my Fairyland ChicLines (though their joints are more elegant, admitedly) At only 10.5 cm, I'm wondering how in the heck I'm going to suede him!

Oh my goodness...how cute. I love the ears and I also like the pink blushing. Did you do the face-up yourself? If so you did a great job with it. The white dots near the eyes is a cool detail.

The plumbing problem is fixed. Apparently the slobs who left us inches of grease on the stove put baby wipes and thick globs of hair down the pipes.

And not to say they had lots of bugs but the centipedes are still coming around looking for supper. It's hard fighting the initial instinct to squish those.

I'd love to be able to take the credit but that's part of the price (body blushing too!). This body is HIGH quality and features Donny's special 'unbreakable' resin. Now, I don't believe that ANY resin is completely unbreakable, but he says it's a bit more flexible than other resin, making it suitable for tinies. The articulation is amazing too (his Neck AND his Shoulders AND his BUTT!?!)

That little one is so tempting, but I have to wait until after the holidays to purchase any new dolls. *grins*
