damn that sucks, Greyhaunt. I'd be heartbroken if my Claddaugh ring snapped. It's been in the family for four generations. It belonged to my great great grandmother, before she came over on the boat from Ireland. I've had it since I was 7, and worn it since it was able to fit, and stay on.... around 16 or 17 I think.

I'm so sorry, I have rings like that... and I know an AWESOME silversmith... but we're on the other side of the continent. -__-;

There is a company called Pardo that makes metal jewelry clay you can bake in your oven, maybe you can make a repair or a copy of the ring? I don't know the melting point of silver.

Maybe it's a sign of a major change coming up? I had a favorite ring snap on me just before the dolls took over.

Today I was briefly the mommy of an orphaned baby mouse. Unfortunately the little guy didn't make it. I knew he didn't have an extreme chance, but I became really hopeful when he perked up after getting a meal and a warm place to snuggle.
At least he didn't die completely alone.

After spotting a few of those awful roaches, and bug-bombing the house, the sheer number of corpses makes me think I have an infestation on my hands. I've never had a problem with roaches before! I'm freaking out. They're disgusting and horrid and ew ew ew ew gross. I feel like I'm going to vomit. I don't know if I got them all. I set off five bombs in my house, and I'm going to pick up some bait traps. I hate living in apartment buildings! D<

There is probably an infestation in one of the other apartments, and until the whole building is treated you will keep getting them.

I strongly suggest bait traps and lines of boric acid inside cabinets and along baseboards.

Woke up a few hours ago to my husband yelling, "honey, it's _raining_ in here!!!!" The cold water line to the sink in the upstairs bathroom had disconnected and was spraying madly into the vanity underneath it, which was pouring into the living room below.
Fans are on, windows are open, cats are freaking. Looks like I'm taking today off from work- thank goodness it's my short day, and I'm at a desk that isn't involved with circulation and the main flow of things.

Ooo KatyaR I'm sorry about the water damage. On the bright side, at least it was the cold water and not the hot water.

OkamiKodomo - roach infestations are really gross. VV is right though. If you were on good terms with your landlord, I would say to notify him, but do you have neighbors you could talk to about this? If you're in an apartment then your neighbors are bound to be having the same problem, and one of them is might be the cause. Also, is their any construction happening around you? That tends to kick up the little bastards and sends them into the buildings they otherwise wouldn't be in. If that's the case then you can convince them that your building is not a good home for them (traps/bombs/poisons) and they'll clear out. You just have to be careful about pets and small children.

My immediate next door neighbors are, awful as it is to say, your stereotypical white trash couple. The girl is arrogant, and ignorant, and her boyfriend beats her. I wake up at least three times a week to banging and screaming (which gets my dogs barking) so I doubt I could bring it up to them. Honestly, I think they might be the cause of the problem. I've lived here for going on 4 years and never had a problem. They moved in about eight months ago.

My landlord has yet to fix a hole in the bathroom wall, a leaking kitchen drain (which makes my under-sink cabinets useless, and moldy) and the inaccessible water heater (drywalled in behind the stairs) so I doubt he's going to shell out to have the building treated. There isn't any construction around, but it was an unreasonably warm winter, even for Florida. I can put the boric acid in the cabinets, but not around the baseboards because of the dogs.

So I acquired a floating head on Sunday, and I had found a body for her, but then we found out my brother got exactly ZERO financial aid and therefore had to drop out of school (he was going to summer school). So now fun things are on hold indefinitely. :(
