I know some other members on here played City of Heroes, do any of you still play it now that its free? Was just wondering since I'm making a new account (played the game when it came out, but let my subscription lapse due to lack of money). Which servers do y'all play on? :3

Yes, I play, I have played continuously for 5 years and am staying on as a VIP (still paying).

Short form:

If you come back, you are a "Premium" player. You get 2 "global slots" that you can assign to any server, plus whatever slots you already had unlocked or bought. You do NOT get to play the post-50 Incarnate content, or Praetoria unless you purchase it, and you can join super groups but not start them.

Get everything that free players get.
Retain nearly everything you already purchased or unlocked, including Super Boosters, expansions, and directly purchased character slots.
Retain all the Veteran Rewards you earned.



If you start a new account you get 2 character slots, and as a Free Player there is a lot of stuff you don't get unless you pay for it, like joining a supergroup, chat channels, using the marketplace, more character slots, that sort of thing.

Play as a Hero or Villain for up to Level 50.
Play in 45 different game zones.
Select from 8 character archetypes and 105 power sets.
Create costumes for up to 2 characters from billions of combinations.
Enjoy over 1,000 missions that will allow you to travel in time, visit alternate dimensions, and fight off alien invasions.
Buy anything you'd like from the in-game store.

Neither Premium nor Free players get help from the Game Masters; basically if you run into trouble you are on your own.

I just spent... my whole day, from like 9am to just now working in my craft room. I finished a new pair of white wings, did a Halloween repaint on Xalez, and started a Halloween dress for her (and my others 27cm girls). It's like... 90% done.. auugghhh... Beer...needz one.

Unfortunately I can't remember anything but the name from my old account and it seems to be connected to an email that no longer functions, so guess I'm stuck with the newbie mode. Its not a terrible loss for me, since the only character I made any progress with was, uh, birthed from my two obsessions at the time (Harley Quinn and goth) and kind of looks like a mime that rolled around in a Hot Topic dumpster. Plus she was named Waffle Demon. Waffle Demon the gothic pierrot mutant vigilante.

Well, it's finally over. My ex-husband's house went on the block today, and more upsetting, I had to take my daughter's cat to the pound this morning.

I still find myself in a state of disbelief over this whole thing. My ex's death at his own hands. My daughter being the one to find him. The state of my ex's finances. The fact that there will probably be little left of her inheritance after the house and the rest of his expenses are paid out of the estate.

This has been a very upsetting few months since my dad died in March, followed shortly thereafter by my ex. I have so many thoughts and feelings running through my head - and heart. I'm so grateful I have a truly wonderful husband who is so supportive, not just for me, but for my daughter. She has leaned on him a lot these past months.
