That's a pretty day bed. I have a new bed frame coming too. My folks ordered me a bed frame from Ikea for my futon, said they couldn't stand seeing me sleeping on the floor all the time, laugh. Now if I could just afford some tall bookcases I might actually have a full set of all the necessary furniture. I actually sleep in a living room that's been converted into a bedroom. I have two roommates in the actual bedrooms here. 3 tall bookcases that's all I want. I like that daybed though. It's very cottage chic.

Thanks, I made the quilt way back in 2000. It's same sized squares from scraps and left overs, a great first project and goes with everything.

Not at all. For the squares just pick a size, don't forget the seam allowances, cut them out, mix them up and sew them together. You can purchase specific fabrics but it's more fun if you use leftovers and recycle old clothes and have all the memories they bring. You can mix weights and textures, as long as it isn't too thin or stretchy. When you get enough squares to make a blanket you make a sandwich with the top, with the squares, some fluffy batting inside, and a backing cloth. Making a doll sized one is an easy way to try it out.

The actual quilting is the stitches that hold the layers together. That can be fancy or just strait stitching.

Congratulations, Misty! Will you be able to take a doll or two? Either way we expect lots of photos so we can live vicariously through your visit!
