Is this just I thread where we post things that suck? If so, I got something.
So I ordered the Azone Meiko Honma doll from Mandrake. I was super stoked, it was only $70-ish dollars (vs $130 everywhere else) and being the cheapskate I am, I used SAL shipping. Around Christmas. You can probably see where this is going. So I paid for it and I wait for it to come in. Meanwhile, I order other stuff and everything comes in except for Meiko. I ordered her late November and TWO MONTHS go by. I'm so pissed I even paid for shipping at this point. It gets to me so much I start getting really pissed off when everyone else start getting packages. So yesterday rolled around and I'm supposed to be home because I don't have class that day, right? Nope! I'm going to a father daughter dance next week so my mom forces me to go dress shopping. I don't think I need it, yet I'm dragged against my will. I know the ending is predictable but I'm gonna tell you anyways. MY FREAKIN PACKAGE CAME IN. IT CAME IN WHILE I WAS GONE AND NOW MY POOR MEIKO HAS TO WAIT TILL MONDAY FOR ME TO SAVE HER FROM THE SCARY POST OFFICE BECAUSE THE POST OFFICE ISN'T OPEN ON THE WEEKENDS HERE. RAWR. Okay I'm done, but seriously, that's bullshit, I should've gotten her early January, THE LATEST. Blargh. A lesson for all. Use EMS around the holidays. -_-;

YandereToyBox Haha, I'm still having crap roll in from the holidays, and I have learned my lesson in that I'm doing Christmas in July next year!!! Seriously, especially when you order stuff from Hong Kong/China (not doll stuff, I collect geodes *pretty sparkly rocks*) it can be up to 3 months and sometimes even worse. Also, I can't STAND when the postman doesn't leave packages. Luckily I have my regular postman trained like a dog!! Even though everything is supposed to be signed for if it comes from out of country he forges my signature and leaves the package like a good postman. I get so much Japanese stuff that I finally out and out told him that he would be lugging packages back and forth a bazillion times if he didn't just sign off on them. Now the only things that get whisked to the post office if I'm not home are the really huge boxes from proxy orders, and that's simply because they're so massive he doesn't want to leave them outside.

Well i moved into my moms for a bit to save money. Now that I'm there, she and her boyfriend both quit working, have been constantly fighting, and she was supposed to be evicted for not helping with bills. Now They are getting along, partying all night, and we have bills past due, shutoff notices AND THEY ARE SHOPPING. I'm TRYING to pay off the electric bill and they go shopping?????

Locked both sets of keys in my car this morning, while it was running. $110 I really didn't have to pay for a locksmith to come down and make a new key because my car is apparently IMPOSSIBLE to break into. Most. Expensive. Spare key. Evar. But there was good things today too which I will post about in the Rejoice thread~!

@Kae915 You might have to move out and let them fall on their own. You shouldn't be helping other people out financially if you are put in a hole, that's not how it's supposed to work. I'm in a room mate situation with family, we each pay fair shares, and the bills get paid. If some people don't have money for extra stuff it's not the other peoples' problems.

The only extra family bills I ever cover are gas and food because I use both. Not my problem if other people have ratty shoes and I have a new doll. I manage my money, I care for my fur children, I'm not responsible for you.

DollyKim I wouldn't be so quick to blanket it like that. I agree with you in Kae915's situation, where it sounds like said family members are being completely irresponsible, but everyone's family situation is different. I'm disabled, so is my mother, and my younger sister is legally a "dependent" who cannot live on her own. Needless to say money isn't exactly flowing like the Niagara falls. Would I give up a new doll because my sister needed new shoes? Fuck yes. I understand what you're saying about "extra" stuff---no I wouldn't give up a new doll I'd saved for because someone wanted the newest fad item, but that stuff is superfluous. If a family member needed true help (not help partying or buying their own stash of crap), I would help in whatever way I could.

Maybe that's just me though, I don't know.

Also, OkamiKodomo that is one heck of a spare key. I hope it shoots laser beams or something for that price!! Still, look at it this way, you have a thief-proof car.

I think both view points have merit. In most situations where all parties are capable of working, and things are handled responsibly, then yes, it's up to the indivudual to save for their things, whether it's a new luxury item or new shoes. My ex chose to buy pot and cigarettes, but bitched that I got myself a desk and chair, while he had to use one from the kitchen table. Some people choose to eat fast food every day. I choose to cook at home and buy new dolls. But if my girlfriend were to suddenly become unable to work for some reason, then yes, I would stop buying new dolls in order to make sure she had what she needed.

I never thought my mom would try to use me like this, but at this point I'm pretty sure they are trying to keep me around because they know I will get housing allowance from the military while my boyfriend is in basic. When it comes to material things, they are pretty well off. They are more than capable of providing for themselves and running the entire house if they wanted and then some.
And I have a doll on layaway from before I fully moved out of my apartment and now I'm not sure how I am going to afford him T_T
