xD It's on par with Sailor Moon's bad guy speech or the Great Saiyaman. LOL

@Alopecia: it's so dramatic!

@trethowan: FOOOOOR SHAAAAME!
Nerdom is more fun when you are a young teenager. xD

When I was a teenager I was busy listening to country music, riding horses, and doing the sports thing. I didn't know anime existed until... I think it was 1998? My then boyfriend showed me Vampire Hunter D. I was HOOKED!

This isn't to say I didn't love Sci-fi. I'd always liked Star Wars and stuff. I was a Trekie. My Freshman year of college I more or less discovered fantasy fiction. I'd read C.S. Lewis, but not the more modern takes on fantasy. Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series had me hooked until around book 5 when I got bored with the length.

I'll disagree and say nerdom is more fun when you're old cause then you can buy whatever you want and your parents can't say anything about it. ;-)

haha, I suppose there is truth to that. It was easier for me to see my friends when I was like 14, and I could stay up all night watching anime and eating pizza. And now it's like I can't do that because of real life things like work and motherly duties. (which isn't a bad thing)

I just noticed you are in TN! I'm in east TN. :)

Nuuurp. My husband works on the weekends so he's got the car then. I've never been to a large anime con before (shame), the only thing that I've been to was the Knoxville Comic and Anime Con. I went to it twice. This year royally sucked. :I We did have kajonk-a-con, but it's been on hiatus the past couple of years... boooo.

I've never made it up to the Knoxville Con. I generally frequent Chattanooga events. ConNooga sucked this year (for the most part.) This new Anime Blast Chattanooga is trying to replace the failed JAMP Con. I went to Nashville's MTAC for the first time this year, that was actually fun. Mostly cause I got to meet a lot of doll peeps who frequent the forums or the RP site I used to visit.

I think that's pretty cool....As for me...

I just wrote almost an essay for my DeviantART journal on my fear of spiders trying to analyze it myself and...Get out that it's not going to ever control how I act...I am terrified of spiders and I over the course of my life have been slowly desensitizing myself to them...

My goal in the next couple years or so besides finally obtaining my dream doll (DZ Brant)? To hold a tarantula and face the scariest moment in my life and be able to walk away laughing and smiling knowing I faced my fear dead on.

I'm proud of myself for what I wrote. The words just...Came they flowed out of my mind and onto the screen infront of me.

The best was the "Heeeeerrrrroooo... come and kiiiiillll meeee!" And I'm thinking; 'yes, do it! come on man, grow a pair and put us all out of our misery!!!!'

Gundam Wing was really my first anime obsession. ^_^

I saw the Robotech Macross saga on DVD at Wal-Mart yesterday, already have an older version and this one has no bells and whistles, but it'll introduce it to new fans :) Battle of the Planets and Voltron was my introduction but Robotech was "my Doctor". I got in to Sailor Moon in the 90s but haven't really got back in to Animae. 20 years without cable can do that to someone.

I'd be the person sticking a box their doll that says Gundam.

^That right there, my thought exactly.
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.
