I've tried the peanut butter trick. This thing avoids me at every turn. I'm at my wit's end with this thing.

Try feed corn. Little buggers love that.

I don't have any, and I have no use for a whole bag of it if I bought it. I'm going to set up some stuff to try to catch or get rid of it when I'm off in a few days. I don't have time until then.

I use feed corn to make microwavable hand and foot warmers. I put the corn into a muslin bag and then make a fleece cover that can be washed. Nuke for a minute or less depending on how much of the corn is used. I use my foot warmer ones year-round up here. They make great gifts.

But any cheap veg might do the trick too. We've baited with regular frozen corn or peas on peanut butter with some success.

Might try the peas and peanut butter trick. As for the foot warmers, I'm a hot blooded person. I wear tank tops on the winter. My coworkers think I'm crazy because I run a fan when it's below freezing. I've always been like this, every since I was a baby. Can't stand being remotely too warm or I just stop being able to function. Apparently, I even used to try my darnedest to shimmy out of my onesies and just sleep in a diaper as a baby.

What about a small bag of bird seed? Then go spread it in a park or somewhere there already are birds. Would unflavored oatmeal or any sort of grain people regularly eat work? How about sunflower seeds.

And to get back to the projects topic I have to remember to get in to the Halloween fabric and add some of that to the scraps to cut up pile. If I can math how many estimated to finish at 6 1/2" squares it would take for any given size quilt. I've already hit on fabrics I made some doll clothes out of. Over all this has still been a good idea to put 25 years of fabrics to use.

There's a batch of what I call 'picnic prints', which probably came from several sources, I'd love to find in actual yardage to make something out of. Did make some Blythe clothes but it would make a darling ensemble for a bigger doll.

We have/had a mouse this past week. He/she was seen both up and down stairs! And the little thing was apparently eating well from it's girth! We got a pack of sonic plug-ins and a humane trap that we put a nontoxic attractant gel in. No hit in the trap, but we also haven't see the mouse again so crossing fingers. This is baby mouse season, after all.

Oh, God, don't remind me . . . I'd keep an eye out if the mouse was particularly fat. That could mean pregnant, and the reason you haven't seen it could be because it's giving birth and tending newborns.

Actually, my daughter's partner saw it upstairs this morning. They have a cockatiel so it can be hard to keep the carpet around Spirit's cage clean all the time.......

As I was looking for the doll heads I started rooting months ago, it occurred to me they could potentially be in mouse territory (still haven't located them). I swear, of that mouse has chewed up my doll projects, I'm sending it out the window via tennis racket.
